NUTRITION GUIDELINES

  • Start every morning with 16 oz of room temperature water
  • Drink at least ½ your body weight in ounces of water each day (ie: if you weigh 200 lbs, drink 100 oz of water)
  • Eliminate soda and juice
  • Be aware of coffee (caffeine) intake - try to limit to no more than 2 cups of coffee per day

Nutrition Tips & Tricks

Sometimes drinking water first thing in the morning can be difficult for some so I suggest drinking it slowly as you get ready for the day. Make it your mission to drink the water before moving on to coffee for the day and try adding a squeeze of lemon for some flavor. Having your water room temperature allows the body to absorb it easier for faster hydration. By drinking it upon waking in the morning, it will fire up your metabolism for the day, give your brain and organs fuel and help your body flush out toxins.

Drinking ½ your body weight in ounces throughout the day can be difficult as well if you are not accustomed to this much water! I recommend getting a jug or big water bottle you can carry with you that you know how many times you need to fill up each day to hit your goal. For example, I have my Yeti that is 24 ounces and I know I need to drink 4-5 of these throughout the day to hit my water goal. I carry it EVERYWHERE. So start with something you can keep at your desk or carry with you throughout your day. You can also try infusing your water with fresh fruit for a bit a flavor, however, I would avoid adding any pre-packaged water flavors due to the sugar content and other ingredients.
